With panoramic views across the Great Rift Valley & the shimmering waters of Lake Naivasha lies Kiangazi House. Set amongst beautiful lush gardens & tended lawns, this 5 bedroom homestead has truly breathtaking views of unspoilt Africa. It is ironic that “Kiangazi” is the Swahili word meaning “hot and dry season”.
Below the House, guests can explore the lake shore with its masses of water birds including Pelicans & Flamingos as well as game drive in the yellow barked acacia forests looking for leopards seeking out their wary antelope prey. With inviting waterholes below the main house it’s possible to view a procession of thirsty big game at close quarters.
Built in the old traditional style of local stone & timber, Kiangazi House has three double ensuite bedrooms within the main house & two further double ensuite bedrooms just beyond the swimming pool. Homestead amenities including a sitting room, dining room, bar & library are found within the house & guests can also play tennis or relax by the pool.
Trained chefs prepare international cuisine & appetizing breakfasts & lunches are often taken outside in the lush gardens or on the expansive verandah.
With so much space & privacy, time here moves slowly & one can absorb oneself without disturbance or bumping into other people. The hosts at the house can organize for guests to take game drives & sundowners in the Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary and also drive or walk along the lakeshore.
Kiangazi is easily accessible from Nairobi by road in about 1 and half hours along the Nairobi – Nakuru highway.
Kiangazi has its own airstrip nearby and charter flights from Nairobi take around 20 minutes
