Porini Lion Camp - Maasai MaraThe Camp is located on the banks of the Ntiakatiak River, a season river with some nearby hippo pools in the exclusive Olare Orok Conservancy. This expansive conservancy which borders the Masai Mara Game Reserve is home to an abundance of animals, although it is famous for the big cats that roam the plains.

Camp Description

Porini Lion Camp Maasai Mara - BedThere are 10 luxury tents with private verandas along the length of the tent for viewing the African bush.

The tents have en-suite bathrooms, flush toilet and safari showers.

Home baked bread, fresh salads and scrumptious meals are prepared by the camp Chef.

Game Viewing

The Masai Mara boasts astonishing amount of game within its borders. Gazelle, wildebeest and zebra graze in large numbers and where prey is found so are predators. The famous black-maned Mara lions are possibly the stars of the Mara show.

Porini Mara Lion Camp - LoungeIn earlier times the Masai were renowned lion killers and it is said that if lions scent approaching Masai on the breeze they move swiftly in the opposite direction. The reserve also teems with cheetah, elephant, kongoni, topi, Thompson's gazelle, waterbuck, hyena, and primates.

Every year the Masai Mara hosts the world's greatest natural spectacle, the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti. From July to October, the promise of rain and fresh grass on in the Mara plains attracts more than 1.3 million wildebeest together in a single massive herd.

At the Mara River they mass together on the banks before plunging forward through the raging waters, fighting against the currents and waiting crocodiles.

Feedback From Clients

James Loffer

Davies, I just wanted to tell you how much we all appreciated all your efforts and sound recommendations in setting up our safari in South Africa. It was a great experience, in a wonderful and beautiful country. Gomo Gomo was just the right type of safari camp for our purposes. They did a really nice job both in camp and on the visits into the bush. We got unbelievably close to so many of the animals. We recommend Gomo Gomo for anyone, not to mention your timely and responsive services. Thank you, from all the Loffer family.
