Nestled among the trees and overlooking a watering hole lays Satao Camp, a definite oasis in the vast shrub land of Tsavo East National Park. The camp provides tranquility and relaxation in the “Eden of East Africa”.
The front of the tents have their own patio with table and chairs. The tents are exquisite, all attractively furnished with locally made beds and unique African designs. Satao has its own all weather airfield and 4x4 safari vehicles for game drives, making this an ideal location for fly in safaris.Accommodation
There are 20 tents all en-suite giving a total of forty beds built in a semi circle ensuring all get a front row view of the watering hole.Each tent has been constructed out of eco friendly materials; sisal and boriti poles topped with a makuti roof. There is a tent with wheel chair access for the physically challenged.
The shower however is in the true African style, whereby the camp staff brings hot water in the evening. Each spacious tent has a private bathroom with running water.
The bathrooms are very spacious, slate floors with stunning wooden framework, the wash basins sunken into the structure, all fitted with flushing toilet.
The suites have authentic antique writing desks and beautiful African bed and cushion covers.
Activities
A typical day at Satao starts with an early 
morning game drive; you are woken up at 6 am to coffee and tea in the restaurant.
At 6:30 you set off in search of the big cats - Lion, Leopard, Cheetah – or your other favorite flora and fauna perhaps.
Upon return to the camp at approximately 8:30 for breakfast you find a selection of “Full English”, “Continental” and fresh fruits in season.
During the day you may relax in your tent or go up to the observation tower and study the animals who have wondered into camp as you await lunch, served under a 200 year old tamarind tree.
Another game drive follows at 3.30 till sunset, just when the animals are coming out, after the 
heat of the midday sun.
Have a “bush shower” in your tent and relax at the bar or swap stories of your day’s adventure round the camp fire.
There is also an optional extra at Satao of a “Sundowner in the Bush”. This option is magnificent: you are taken out into the bush where a camp fire is lit, bitings and champagne are served as you watch the blazing red sun sink into the night, making it a truly wonderful experience.
